“HICKORY SPEEDWAY CROWNS 2008 CHAMPIONS!”

Newton, NC………..Hickory Motor Speedway hosted it's 57 th Annual Champions' Banquet on Saturday, November 15 th , at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory.

2008 Bojangles Late Models Champion was Andy Loden….for the third consecutive year. Loden took home over $6,000 in prize money from the Track, and more for winning the North Carolina State Championship at the national Banquet in Las Vegas. He also had his name added to the “Hickory Cup”, the track trophy that shows all HMS Track Champions since 1951.

Loden, as well as all other Divisional Champions, received a custom-made 2008 Champions ring, a special trophy, 2 Champions jackets, and many other prizes.

Dexter Canipe Jr. was crowned 2008 Champion of the Jewelry Exchange Limited Late Models, after winning the Super Trucks Division Championship in 2007. He plans to race Late Models in 2009.

Advance Auto Parts Super Trucks 2008 Champion was Kevin Bumgarner, in the Ed Rosamond truck.

The 2008 Pro-4's Championship was won by Josh Wimbish, 2008 Street Stocks Champion was Kevin Eby, and 2008 Red Baron Race Parts Hobby Stocks Championship went to David Hasson.
