| Five Races Five Winners – Who Will Capture Race Six June 8, 2008 Hendersonville, NC
Jake Crum made an impressive run at Dillon claiming the victory and putting himself back on top as leader of the UARA points. Crum has had an outstanding season thus far. He has had a win, two seconds a third and one not so wonderful 21 st. He has shown the crowd he has what it takes to possibly be the Champ this year. 2007 UARA Champion Ross Furr began 2008 with a win at Concord and then his luck has turned sour and he seems to be plagued with bad luck. Following his win Furr has had a 23 rd , 17 th , 23 rd and 22 nd place finish. Nothing would thrill the Champ more than to shake this bad luck off his back and put himself back in the winning form he showed in 2007. Fellow UARA regular Alex Yontz has been doing some great racing but lady luck has not kissed him yet. Yontz will be a serious contender at Hickory and is itching for his first win of 08. Yontz finished 2nd at Bristol, 4 th at Motormile, sixth at Orange County, 7 th at Concord and then had a disappointing 24 th at Dillon where his car looked like a modified by race end. Jamie Yelton is the only UARA regular currently running to have two wins at Hickory and would like nothing better that to claim that sixth event for 2008.If Yelton claims the victory it will make him the third UARA driver to win three events at the same track. Lee Tissot had that honor at Anderson Speedway and Jamey Caudill accomplished it at Southern National. Caudill and his JR Motorsports teammates have been making their presence known in 2008 but victory has eluded them thus far. Richard Boswell II was a very strong contender at Dillon when he received car damage while coming thru lap traffic and ending up on the hook to the pits. Boswell has been on the pole twice out of the first five events. Curtis Truex, Jr. has had 4 top ten finishes and an eleventh. These young men are running 6 th , 7 th and 8 th in the points. Melling Select Rookies have been giving the veteran drivers a run for the money and are having a very competitive battle of their own. In the first five events there have been five different Rookie point leaders. The season started out with Cliff Daniels leading followed by Andrew Carlsen, Brandon McReynolds, Scott Turlington and Darrell Wallace, Jr. Each of these young drivers have locked in a top ten finish with Daniels coming home with a third at Bristol. The Inex Legend drivers will be on hand for a 30-lap shootout to complete the program. The Bad Boy Mowers 150 presented by EverythingAttachments . com should prove to be a Hickory spectacular with some serious rubbing going on to thrill the fans. Is it possible for one of the local boys to come along and take the STARS glory? That question will be answered on June 14, 2008 Pit Gates open: 9 am Grandstand Gates open: 4:30 p.m. Qualifying 5 p.m. Autograph Session: 6 p Racing Begins: 7 p.m. Current Points Standings:
