Hickory Motor Speedway Honors 2010 Season Champions

( Newton, NC December 7, 2010 ) Hickory Motor Speedway hosted is 59 th Annual Championship Banquet on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory, NC. The night provided guests an opportunity to reminisce about the season's highlights.
The No. 10 of Andy Mercer earned the title of 2010 Bojangles' Late Model Champion. 2010 was the second straight season Mercer held the title of Hickory Motor Speedway Track Champion for the Bojangles' Limited Late Model division. Mercer received more than $5,000 in prize money from both the Speedway and NASCAR. His name will be added to the Hickory Cup as a multiple season champion, joining the ranks of drivers such as John Settlemeyre, Harry Gant, Ralph Earnhardt, Jack Ingram, Tommy Houston and more.
The No. 5 of Dexter Canipe Jr. was in attendance to accept his awards as the 2010 Advance Auto Parts Limited Late Model Champion, along with the No. 16 of Clint Fields who took home the Everything Attachments Super Truck Championship title. The No. 03 of Kevin Eby was recognized for being the 2010 Street Stock Champion, the No. 4 of Adam Beaver was acknowledged as the 2010 4-Cylinder Champion and the No. 85 of Jeff Weisner was named the 2010 Red Barron Race Parts Hobby Stock Champion. All Champion drivers received custom trophies, personalized Championship watches (courtesy of The Jewelry Exchange in Hickory, NC), embroidered champion jackets and other gifts.
