Mansch and Wimbish Victorious at Hickory Motor SpeedwayAugust 7th, 2010 Hendersonville, NC
The Bojangles Late Models kicked off the night with the first of two 50-lap features with the No. 10 of Andy Mercer leading the field to the green during the caution free event. The No. 88 of Kyle Mansch quickly jumped out front grabbing the top spot on the first lap, while the No. 5 of Dexter Canipe Jr. worked his way into the top three during the first five laps. On lap 31 the No. 92 of Candace Muzny shot under the No. 43 of Jesse LeFevers heading out of turn two breaking into the top five. By lap 34 Mercer had pulled back under Mansch looking for a shot to move back out front, but Mansch once again pulled away. On lap 39 Mercer, decided to try the high line as he made another move for the the lead. The two maintained a tight battle until the end as Mansch led Mercer to the checkers with Canipe Jr. following behind in third. The No. 51 of Josh Wimbish and Muzny also developed a tight battle for fourth, with Wimbish coming home with the position leaving Muzny to complete the top five. The second 50-lap feature for the Bojangles Late Models went just as smoothly as the first Mercer bringing the field to the green flag for the caution free event. The No. 51 of Josh Wimbish jumped to the lead during the first lap and began pulling away from the field, leaving Mercer and Canipe Jr. to battle for second. Canipe Jr. got his nose under Mercer on lap 11, as he started to look for his chance to move into the second place spot. The two traded the position back and forth until lap 30 when Mercer inched ahead. Muzny had worked her way into the top five during the early laps of the race and was ready to continue working her way towards the front. Muzny slid under the No. 19 of Kyle Moon as the two headed out of turn four on lap 24 taking over fourth. By the mid-point of the race Mansch had made his way into sixth after starting the second feature from the back of the pack. Meanwhile, Muzny continued to work her way towards the front taking the third place spot away from Canipe Jr. on lap 36. After moving by Canipe Jr. Muzny set her sights for Mercer and the second place position, taking over the spot with ten laps to go. Muzny and Mercer raced side by side fighting for the position, with Muzny winning the battle. Wimbish came home with the win, while Muzny, Mercer, Canipe Jr. and Mansch rounded out the top five.
After the restart Canipe Jr. and Lynn developed a tight battle for the lead, running side by side until lap 23 when Canipe Jr. began to pull away holding onto his lead. On lap 29 the No. 8 of Mark McIntosh pulled under Lynn coming off of turn four to take over second on lap 30. With two laps remaining Herques tried to move ahead of Lynn to move into third, but time ran short for Herques leaving him to come home fourth. The No. 07 of Tyler Church had a solid run coming home with a top five finish.
The Hickory Street Stocks made their way to the track for their 30-lap event. The No. 21 of pole sitter Roger Pitts II put on a clinic as he led all 30 caution free laps. On the first lap the No. 25 of Jeremy Pelfrey made contact with the No. 1 of Taylor Stricklin, getting Stricklin extremely loose heading off of turn four. Stricklin held on tight to avoid spinning, while maintaining his second place position. With ten laps remaining the No. 03 of Kevin Eby pulled under Stricklin aiming move into the second place position, taking over the spot on lap 24, leaving Stricklin to settle for a third place finish. The No. 5 of Mike Newton and the No. 64 of Marshall Sutton rounded out the top five. The Hickory 4-Cylinders hit the asphalt for their 25-lap feature, with the No. 4 of Adam Beaver leading the pack. The excitement started earlier when the No. 3 of Donnie Harmon spun heading into turn four. The No. 52 of Mike Issac spun to avoid the spinning Harmon before the first lap was complete, bringing out the first caution. On the first lap the No. 18 of Devon Haun moved into the second place position from his fourth place starting position. The second caution waved on lap six after Beaver and Haun made contact on the back stretch sending both spinning. Caution number three followed shortly after, when the No. 51 of Nathaniel Kanupp spun around in turn two on lap seven.

The Night will include a special 100 lap feature for the Bojangles Late Models along with racing action from the Advance Auto Parts Limiteds, the Everything Attachment Super Trucks, the Hickory Street Stocks and the Hickory 4-Cylinders. Grandstands open at 5 PM, with qualifying immediately following. The Fan Experience will hit the track taking fans for a ride with the No. 43 of Jesse LeFevers beginning at 6 PM with feature racing action beginning at 7 PM. Fans can get their $5 advance tickets at any Sig's Tire Center location up until the day of the vent. Tickets on race day are only $10 for adults, $8 for teens and seniors, $5 for kids ages 7-12, with kids 6 and under FREE. Remember if you not here you're missing out!
