THE CHAMPIONS WILL BE CROWNED THIS SATURDAY AT HICKORY MOTOR SPEEDWAY( Newton, NC – September 14, 2010 ) Hickory Motor Speedway will host AT&T Championship Night presented by Gaston Rentals this Saturday, September 18, 2010. The night will feature the final races for all divisions of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Events for the night will include a special 100-lap feature for the Bojangles Late Models along with racing action from the Advance Auto Parts Limiteds, the Everything Attachment Super Trucks, the Hickory Street Stocks, the Hickory 4-Cylinders and the Red Baron Race Parts Hobby Stocks. Intense point battles are in progress as the Speedway heads into the championship night, only two of the six of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions have champions already determined. The No. 5 of Dexter Canipe Jr. has clinched the Advance Auto Parts Limited Late Models championship, while the No. 4 of Adam Beaver will be credited with the Hickory 4-Cylinder championship. Only 20 points separate the No. 10 of Andy Mercer and the No. 88 of Kyle Mansch in the Bojangles Late Models battle for the championship, while the No. 03 of Kevin Eby leads the No. 1 of Taylor Stricklin and the No. 21 of Roger Pitts II (who are currently tied for second) by 28 points in the Hickory Street Stocks. The pressure will be on the No. 16 of Clint Fields who is ahead of the No. 11 of Thomas Beane by a mere six points in the Everything Attachment Super Trucks championship race. The No. 85 of Jeff Weisner is the current points leader of the Red Baron Race Parts Hobby Stocks, but the No. 31 of Steven Willis trails behind by only 12 points in second. Grandstands for AT&T Championship Night presented by Gaston Rentals will open at 5 p.m., with qualifying immediately following.
