LeFevers and McDaniel split twin-50's
in Red Roof Inn/USG/Catawba County Chamber of Commerce Night at the races

 

NEWTON, N.C. (August 11th, 2012) Twin 50's were the order of the night for the Red Roof Inn/USG/Catawba County Chamber of Commerce Night with the #43 of Jesse LeFevers securing the pole for the 1 st 50-lapper. LeFevers led flag to flag with an exciting race throughout the field. The #51 of Josh Wimbish finished 2 nd , followed by the #2 of Trey Gibson, the #12 of Austin McDaniel and the #1 Pietro Fittipaldi rounding out the top five.

The second race on the schedule was the Red Baron Renegades with the #75 of Charlie Neill leading them to the green flag. There were several battles throughout the field for the 20-lap feature. Neill would take the checkered flag followed by the #16 of Carroll McKinney, the #8 of Kenneth Roberts, the #4 of Greg Austin and the #64 of Darby Crouch.

The Paramount KIA Limited Late Models had another great field of cars with the #21 of Monty Cox taking the pole and leading the field to the green. Cox took the early lead followed by the #55 of Zach Bruenger and a side by side battle between the #51 of Jeremy Pelfrey and the #75 of Landon Huffman followed by several battling for position behind. Cox pulled out to a 10-car length lead at halfway while Huffman and Bruenger battle for second. Meanwhile the #00 of Shane Lee had been reeling in the pack, Lee moved into 4 th past Pelfrey on lap 24. As Huffman reeled in the leader, caution flew on lap 24 for the spin of the #07 of Josh Bralley. This set up an ll-lap shootout for the win. The top 3 of Cox, Huffman and Lee would pull away and a 9-car battle began for 4 th . At the checkered it was the #21 of Cox, followed by Huffman, Lee, the #35 of Chris Lewis and the #18 of Casey Pierce rounding out the top 5.

In the Super Truck race the #33 of Jeremy Birch sat on the pole. It was a door to door battle early, but the checkered flag went to Birch, followed by #02 of Jason Cochran, the #27 of Trey Pitts, the #7 of Whitney Lail and the #03 of Chase Campbell rounded out the top 5.

The #63 of Marshall Sutton was fast qualifier for the WrenchRags Street Stocks and it did not take long for the action to heat up with the #03 of Kevin Eby battling door to door with Sutton, followed closely by the #5 of Mike Newton and the #33 of Mark Whitten. But it would be Eby taking the win, followed by Sutton, Newton, Whitten and the #99 of Roy Smith.

The second twin NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bojangles Late Model Stock Car race rolled off with the #43 of Jesse LeFevers leading the pack to the green. The fans would not be disappointed in the second feature as racing action started early between the top three of LeFevers, the #51 of Josh Wimbish and #12 of Austin McDaniel. It was a three-way battle for the first 30 laps between the three. But at the end of the race McDaniel would take the win followed by LeFevers, Wimbish, the #1 of Pietro Fittipaldi and the #28 of Tyler Hill.

Next Saturday Night - August 18 th join us for Advance Auto Parts Night featuring the Bojangles Late Models, Paramount KIA Limited Late Models, WrenchRags Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders and Sportsman Racing Classics
